Size is also important. The smaller the sensor, the more likely it is to be hidden or embedded in the object it's monitoring. The size of the sensor also affects the range it can detect.
The sensor's mounting location is also important. The sensor should be mounted so that it can detect the object it's monitoring. If the sensor is mounted too low, it won't be able to detect the object. If the sensor is mounted too high, it will be blocked by the object.
